Stainless steel is used in manufacturing various products. It is broadly divided into different grades to classify the materials as per their properties. One such plate made with 304 grade is Stainless Steel 304L Plate. However, the letter L added to the number denotes that it has a lower content of carbon. They do not need post-weld annealing and are used in heavy gauge components. They display resistance to corrosion in a wide range of corrosive environments. Stainless Steel 304L diamond plate is an inferior variety of 304 grade as it is deprived of carbon. This eliminates the problem of carbon precipitation. The problem of chromium carbide as a byproduct of heat treatment is constant. This reduces the UNS S30403 Stainless steel Flat Sheets effectiveness against oxidation and corrosion. Ideally, they are non-magnetic however they become magnetic when they are cold worked. Stainless steel Grade 304L perforated sheets are widely used in brewing, chemical, food processing, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Their thickness ranges between 4mm to 100mm.
Stainless steel 304L Sheets are used in offshore drilling, heat exchangers, condensers, and have a melting point of 1400 degrees C.
