ASTM A672 / A672M - 16 (Standard Specification for Electric-Fusion-Welded Steel Pipe for High-Pressure Service at Moderate Temperatures)
This specification covers electrical-fusion-welded steel pipe for high-pressure service at moderate temperatures. Heat treatment may or may not be required to attain the desired properties or to comply with applicable code requirements. An analysis of each mill heat of plate material shall be made, also, an analysis of the finished deposited weld material from each 500 ft or fraction thereof shall be made. The mechanical test requirements includes one tension test specimen to represent each lot of finished pipe, and one transverse-guided-weld-bend test (two specimens) to represent each lot of finished pipe. Also, radiograph HIC examination shall be made on the full length of each weld.

ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes
ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes are high-quality electric fusion welded (EFW) carbon steel pipes designed for service at moderate to high pressures and elevated temperatures. These pipes are manufactured in accordance with the ASTM A672 specification, which covers EFW steel pipes made from pressure vessel quality plates. Due to their strength, reliability, and excellent performance, ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes are widely used in demanding industrial applications.
Material & Manufacturing Process
ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes are produced using carbon steel plates conforming to ASTM A516 Grade 60 or equivalent material standards. The pipes are manufactured through an electric fusion welding process, ensuring a strong and uniform weld seam. Post-weld heat treatment is carried out as per Class 12 or Class 32 requirements to enhance mechanical properties, relieve internal stresses, and improve overall durability. This controlled manufacturing process ensures consistent quality and long service life.
Mechanical Properties & Performance
These pipes are known for their excellent mechanical strength, toughness, and resistance to pressure-related stress. ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes exhibit good tensile strength and yield strength, making them suitable for high-pressure fluid transportation. Their ability to withstand thermal variations and mechanical loads makes them a preferred choice in critical operations where safety and reliability are essential.
Dimensional Accuracy & Customization
ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes are available in a wide range of diameters, wall thicknesses, and lengths to meet diverse project requirements. Standard sizes are readily available, while customized dimensions can be manufactured as per client specifications. Strict dimensional control ensures ease of installation, proper fitment, and compatibility with existing piping systems.
Applications
ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes are extensively used across various industries due to their robust performance and versatility. Common applications include oil and gas pipelines, power generation plants, refineries, petrochemical units, fertilizer plants, and process piping systems. These pipes are also suitable for conveying steam, water, gas, and other fluids under high pressure and temperature conditions.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Quality is a critical aspect of ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes. Each pipe undergoes rigorous testing to ensure compliance with ASTM standards. Common tests include hydrostatic testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, chemical analysis, and mechanical testing. These quality checks guarantee defect-free pipes with consistent performance and reliability in service.
Advantages of ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes
One of the key advantages of ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes is their superior pressure-handling capability combined with cost-effectiveness. Compared to seamless pipes, EFW pipes offer excellent performance at competitive pricing. Their smooth internal surface reduces friction losses, enhancing fluid flow efficiency. Additionally, these pipes offer good corrosion resistance when used with appropriate coatings or linings.
Packaging & Delivery
ASTM A672 C60 CL12-32 Pipes are securely packed to prevent damage during transportation. Packaging options include bundling, wooden supports, and protective end caps. We ensure timely delivery through an efficient logistics network, meeting project deadlines without compromising product quality.
