This grade offers high durability, dimensional accuracy, and high strength. Carbon Steel A105 hex bar can be heat treated either by annealing and normalizing, or quenching and tempering or by normalizing and tempering. ASTM A105 forged bars are used in pressure systems with ambient or high temperature service. They are said to have an ideal finish with good machinability along with longer life and resistance to corrosion. However, when compared to Austenitic steel they have poor machinability. And also offer resistance to oxidation. They are well known for durability and robustness. Carbon Steel SA105 Hollow Bar has a melting point of 1425 degrees C. Since this rod has more carbon it gains strength and hardness however the ductility is low. In general, a high carbon content lowers the melting point of the steel and its temperature resistance.
