API 5l specification has a wide variety of pipes fabricated under it. These pipes are different from each other in many ways. API 5L X65 Pipe is one such pipe that is manufactured under this specification. It is also known as API 5L Grade X65 High Yield Pipe and is a suitable grade for weldable structural steel for offshore piping projects. API 5L X 65 Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe is used in sour wells where hydrogen sulfide gas is available in the environment. This gas may corrode and create a load of the inner walls of the X65 Carbon Steel Pipe. However, the ability of Grade X65 PSL2 Spiral Pipe to resist sulfide corrosion makes it admirable. API 5L X65 Grade B LSAW Pipe has a reduced carbon content which enhances the solubility and reduces the hardness of the heat-affected area. API 5L X65 SCH 40 DSAW Pipe displays excellent mechanical strength and weldability.
API 5L x65m psl2 uses ingots, blooms, billets, coils, or plates to be made out of basic oxygen electric furnace, or via open earth in combination with laden refine process. To produce X65 Grade PSL2 Pipeline the steel needs to be killed and melted as per the fine grain practice. The coil used for API 5L Grade X65 PSL2 Epoxy Coated Pipe should not have any weld on its surface.
